Once upon a time, you may not have liked me much. I was always sad. I was full of fear. Verses like these saved my life- “If you look to him for help, he will put a smile on your face. You will have no need to be ashamed.” (Ps 34:5) ; “Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God— soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God.” (Ps 42:5). It’s true, God’s word is alive and so active. It changes people. It changed the way I thought and saw, “as a man thinks, so he becomes”.
And so, my encouragement today is, ‘Set your gaze locked on Jehovah and Jesus’. Remember all the ways He’s shown His love to you whether as a baby or as a working adult. Thank Father God and rejoice! Trust that the King who was with you yesterday is the same king who will be with you today! Cast your cares on Him and don’t dwell on the worries, fears and uncertainties.
It’s not easy, but you can decide that maybe everyday at 12 pm you will throw a 15 min praise concert for God, or you can have little sticky notes of bible verses or powerful words reminding you of God, you can wake up extra early to pray before you start your day. You know you and what suits you.
I struggle with life issues. Most people do. We have our own shade of what may worry our hearts, but personally, I keep my cool and I smile big when I think of God’s character. It’s not easy but it’s something we have to do intentionally.
Keep your gaze locked on God. Let His word and spirit be your anchor.
Shift your focus on God and follow His wisdom.
Love & Light,
