Jim Rohn says, “we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with”. So my question today is- “Who are the people in your clique? How are they influencing you?”
It’s important that the giver of joy- Jehovah God, be the most important person in your clique. He gives the best gifts. He gives us His powerful Holy Spirit, who produces real joy in us (Gal 5:22-23).
Real joy is something that can’t be stolen by heart break, disappointments or discouragement. Real joy is alive in the person of Christ, and it never runs out.
Truth is, we smile for different reasons. We smile for the photo, we smile when we see the ones that gives us ‘butterflies in our stomach’, we smile when kids do cute things, we smile when we see our money increase, we smile because a smile is beautiful and it births new friendships. But , can we still smile when there are no pictures, no one to give us butterflies, no kids, when you are betrayed, in cancers clutch, loosing a loved one, having little money?
It’s hard but what if joy is possible in the face of darkness?
My prayer today is that we be a people of joy. I believe that joy is a super power…for joy is like a sun, buried deep in our hearts, and when it rises, it shines forth, reflecting on our face and even the impossible rejoices.
In addition, learn to laugh at yourself, don’t take yourself too seriously, dance and sing as much as you can, be with amazing friends and cloud the negativity with positivity, pray for constant joy, create beautiful memories and think on them often, never lose hope and faith, control what you can and don’t fret about the things you can’t, be simple yet complex, store your treasure in God, and live out your purpose. Our ultimate purpose in life- is to love God and people well. Whatever you do, whether you are a banker or baker, or you become a president in the future, let ‘Love for God and people’ be at your core. Love produces joy.
Now go hang out with the giver of joy. As He gives you, share it with the world.
(Colossians 2:6-7 MSG)
Have a joy filled week and an unbreakable smile!
